Mother's Day

Mother's Day was especially nice this year because we got to enjoy it with Dave's parents who were out visiting. Joan Chapman is a wonderful mother. It is women like her for whom this holiday was created. I'm honored to call her my mother-in-law. I've never had a hard time addressing her as "mom". She has always made me feel like one of her own. I have her to thank for my amazing husband. She raised an incredible man. She continues to be an amazing grandma to my children. You can tell she makes a great effort to be a part of their lives even though the distance doesn't always make that easy. They know her and love her and they know that she loves them. What more can you ask for than that?

It was a wonderful day. The kids and Dave brought me breakfast in bed, the weather was amazing and so after church we all got to enjoy spending time outside. We played backyard baseball with Phillip's little plastic set which was pretty funny. I got the new outfit that you see (good job picking this out for me, honey!), as well as a gift card to a spa (back massage, here I come!). And to top it all off, we had a yummy steak dinner (loving grilled by Dave) with homemade strawberry pie for dessert. I felt spoiled and loved.

Grandma Joan got some Fannie Mae chocolates.

Phillip enjoyed the chocolates too.
