Maddie turns 12!

At the end of last year, Maddie turned 12!  She is now officially a young woman and no longer has to go to primary.  She couldn't be happier.  I love our tradition of making the birthday person breakfast in bed and then waking them up while singing "Happy Birthday to You".  They also get to open presents at this time and which of course means pictures!  I love this for two reasons.  First of all, it's great for remembering the occasion, and secondly, it'll make for some great blackmail one day should she get out of line. You gotta love first thing in the morning pictures :)

Birthday girl

For her party this year she wanted to do games based on the popular game show, Minute to Win it.  We had a lot of fun putting them together and the girls (plus Ryan) had a lot of fun playing them.

 

For this game you had to start with the black cup on top and then one by one put the cups from the top of the stack to the bottom until the black cup got on top again.

You had to hold a Popsicle stick between your teeth and stack 5 dice on top of each other without them falling.

You had to stack 7 ding dongs on top of your forehead and hold it for three seconds

Each can had pennies in them in increments of 5 cents from 5 cents up to 40 cents.  In one minute you had to shake the cans and put them in the correct ascending order.

Plastic cups were lined along the table and in one minute you had to blow up a balloon and with only the air in the balloon knock the cups off of the table.

A kleenex box was tied to your waist with 12 ping pong balls inside and in one minute you had to shake them until they all fell out.

For this one you lifted up the black plastic cup to reveal several M&M's.  In one minute you had to sort them in the corresponding colored container using only one hand.

Face the Cookie:  You started with an Oreo cookie on your forehead and using only facial muscles you had to move the cookie from your forehead to your mouth in one minute.
